Apply Mascara To Give That Dramatic Look
Importance of applying Mascara
If want to add glamour to your eye makeup, Mascara is a must makeup component. Your eye makeup is incomplete without applying mascara. Your eye makeup gets finishing touch with mascara. Mascara adds thickness to the eyelashes. Eyelashes look long and heavy. It gives the eyelashes clean look by separating them and curling them. Eyelashes get a well-defined look.
Besides being a makeup tool, mascara also nourishes the eyelashes. Now days, mascara is laced with proteins, waxes and oils which help to condition the eyelashes. They contain some problem-solving solution also. You can choose one, which suits your needs. If you have sparse-looking and thin lashes, you can make them look thick by adding volume. This can be easily achieved with the help of special ingredients in lash-building formulations in mascara. One should not use lash-building mascara, if she is wearing lenses as they can cause irritation, when fibers in it come in contact with lens.
How To Choose A Mascara
Mascara comes in various kinds. You can choose one according to your need.
- Water based mascara: This kind of mascara is water-soluble. You can apply it quickly and can be removed easily. They are soft to eyes and lashes. It runs with tears or in touch with water.
- Waterproof Mascara: It is a waterproof mascara and do not get smudged. They do not get infected or spoiled even if kept for long. It is best for the people who swim or cry a lot. It will last long and can be removed only with the help of eye makeup remover made for this type of mascara.
- There is a mixed variety of mascara, which is combination of both water based and water proof mascara. This is the cake form and is popular with models as it dries quickly and can easily be removed.
- There is special kind of mascara, which contains plastic polymers. It is applied to short lashes to give an illusion of length. But it does not add volume to the lashes. Although these are effective but can dry the lashes.
- Mascaras come in various colors like blue, green or red but browns and blacks are the natural choice.
Applying Mascara:
- Mascara is applied from base to the tip of eyelashes.
- First twirl the mascara wand into the pack and deposit the color.
- Now apply it on the lashes in full stroke.
- Hold the mascara wand horizontal to the eyelashes and apply from underside of the eyelids.
- Roll the brush in upward stroke very slowly.
- Blot off the extra color on the tissue paper.
- For the lower lashes use lesser mascara.
- While applying on lower lashes, hold it vertically to the lash.
- To move the bristles of brush between eyelashes, wiggle the wand brush slightly, it will comb and separate the lashes.
- Let the mascara dry before applying second coat.
Some tips for perfect Mascara Application:
- Use eyelashes comb or damp brush to comb lashes, before applying mascara.
- Use clean mascara wand on damp lashes.
- Mascara should be for individual use only, to avoid eye infections.
- It should not be used if it causing even slightest irritation to eyes.
- Use eye make up remover to remove it instead of rubbing.
- Before applying mascara, you should put a little powder on under eye area to avoid smudging.
- Also before applying mascara, curl the lashes.
- Do not match mascara with your eye color.
- Use a short and thin brush to easily apply mascara to the corners of lashes.
- To make the eyes wide, apply light mascara to upper and lower lashes.
