Black Hair Care
Black is the natural color of hair. Healthy and shiny black hairs are considered as the prettiest hair. There is need of special black hair care. Black hairs are delicate and fragile.
Black hair have tendency to be curly. Degree of curliness may vary for different individuals. Black hairs have tendency to be brittle; for this reason black hairs split and break more frequently. This happens because sebaceous glands in the scalp having black hair produce lesser sebum, which is required to moisturize the hair. For this reason there is requirement of special attention and black hair care to have healthy look for long.
Black hairs are too much dry. To take care of its dryness, you should apply a formulation, specially prepared to supply the natural oil, which is not present in black hair. This formulation should be applied daily in hairs. It will improve the texture of hairs and make them more manageable. Hair will get proper nourishment and will start shining as application of this therapy gives deep conditioning to hairs. This is very vital black hair care treatment.
If you are choosing to apply color to black hairs, do it with caution. This is because black hairs are dry and porous which get aggravate with application of chemicals present in bleaches and dyes. Choose for a hairstyle, which enhance your facial features. Curly hairs can be cut short, as it is easy to handle short hairs. You can use conditioners with shampoo and after that apply soft wax to hairs. To maintain the curls, you can apply special lotions and moisturizing spray.
To make black hairs soft and flexible, use oils, daily moisturizers, leave-in conditioners and creams freely. Some natural oils, which you can try, are shea butter, olive oil, and sunflower oil, jojoba oil. Oil should be applied while your hairs are still wet, to have more positive results.
Basic Black Hair Care
- When you go to bed in the night, comb your hairs and tie them in a plait or wrap them using a scarf. In the morning you will get less tangles in the hairs while you comb and hence lesser chances of breaking of hair. You should comb your hair while you are conditioning to remove tangles.
- You should massage your scalp regularly with good quality natural oil such as Shea butter. You can apply a daily moisturizer.
- Hot oil treatment, at least once in a month for deep conditioning, is must for preserving shine of black hairs. Regular massage also promotes blood circulation in scalp and increases the oil production in glands. For this, apply oil to the hairs and scalp. After that wrap it with a towel, rinsed in steaming hot water, for 15 minutes to give steam treatment. Afterwards wash thoroughly. This is a wonderful therapy for black hairs.
- Sleeping on a satin pillow can avoid occurrence of split ends. When you sleep on a cotton pillow, your hairs get rubbed and break.
- If you tend to have excessive sweat in your scalp, rinse the salt out of your hairs.
- After washing the hair, you should use a leave-in conditioner.
- Go slow on any treatment requiring heat on your hairs like blow-drying; perms etc. as heat tend to damage hair.
- Take proper balanced diet having all the required vitamins and nutrients, as these are very essential for proper growth of hair. Drink plenty of water as water helps to moisturize hairs.
- Follow a healthier lifestyle, which will result in healthy hairs.
- Do not use fine toothcomb, instead use a wide tooth comb to comb the curly hairs otherwise for relaxed hairs, you can use a normal brush.
- You can use hair gels for keeping black hairs in shape.
- For washing hairs, do not use hot water, as it will dry the scalp. Use warm water.
