Applying Eyeliner:
If you are choosing pencil or felt tip eyeliner, you will not have any problem controlling them, they can be used as a pen. But if you are using liquid eyeliner, you need a lot of practice.
1. Prepare for applying eyeliner. You can use pencil eyeliner for soft look and liquid for dramatic and precise look. You can also wet dark eye shadow to be applied as eyeliner. If you have pencil eyeliner, sharp it with care. You can make its tip soft by warming by hair dryer. This will help it glide smoothly. Check for clumps in liquid eyeliner. And also take care of right brush to apply eyeliner. In case of cake eyeliner or dark eye shadow, move wet brush through cake or eye shadow softly.
2. Hold the brush as if you are holding a pen. Put the elbow of your hand, in which you are holding the brush, on a hard surface and its wrist on face.
3. Now slightly tilt head back and keep eyes slightly open making right position to apply the eyeliner.
4. Now look into the mirror and concentrate intently on your eyelid in a gentle way. It will prevent eyelid from shaking.
5. Now draw a straight line across the lash line of the upper lid. Eyeliner should touch the lashes but not over the lashes. It will create illusion of longer and thick lashes.
6. After applying eyeliner, close your eyes and open when it is completely dry otherwise it will mess up your crease on eyelid.
7. Now use a cotton swab or a brush to smudge the line to give it a soft look. If you like a sharp line then do not touch it and for making changes, use a cotton swab, dipped in eye makeup remover.
8. As for shape of line, it should be according to the shape of eye.
9. If you want to apply it under lower lash, keep eyes open and draw a fine line. Applying eyeliner below the lower eyelid will make your eyes look smaller. Another important caution, it may darken your undereye circles temporarily.
10. Apply eyeliner before applying mascara and after applying eyeshadow.
