Eyebrow Shaping: Different Techniques
Eyebrows are the part of our eye. Eyebrows frame the eyes and give them a definite shape. Eyebrows also help in conveying messages when eyes speak. They protect the eyes from dust and dirt by grabbing them. Giving a desired shape to natural eyebrows is known as the eyebrow shaping.
Eyebrow shaping can change the look and personality of the face dramatically. Eyebrow shaping should be according to the facial features of the person. Properly done eyebrow shaping can enhance the beauty of eyes while poorly shaped eyebrows can dampen the looks of eyes.
Selecting the shape of eyebrow
Shape of Eyebrow should be according to the shape of eye and you facial features. First examine your face before shaping your eyebrows randomly.
If you have soft and small face with fine features, thin and light eyebrow shape is right for you. If you have large and strong face, thick and heavy eyebrows will look perfect on your face.
Look at the natural shape of your eyebrows. Find out the hair on eyebrow, you do not want and then find out its proper shape with the help of a pencil. There should be symmetry between both brows. Start and end of the eyebrow should lie on a straight horizontal line to avoid unwanted, unintentional expressions.
Finding the shape: Beginning of Eyebrow: Put a pencil vertically on face, along a straight line across the middle of mouth, side of nose and tear duct up to eyebrow. At this point, eyebrow begins.
Middle of Eyebrow: At the middle of eyebrow is its arc, giving it a curved look. To find out this, place the pencil diagonally, starting from the middle of mouth, nostril, outside the iris of eye to eyebrow. This is the point for arc.
End of the Eyebrow: To find the point where eyebrow ends, place the pencil diagonally, passing though middle of mouth, nostril to the other corner of the eye. Here at this point eyebrow ends.
Techniques for Eyebrow shaping: There are many techniques and products available to shape the eyebrows. You can shape your eyebrows yourself using some techniques. But if you have not done it before or you are not confident, in that case you seek services of a beauty salon. They have all the expertise and tools to shape the eyebrows neatly.

Eyebrow Waxing:

- Waxing is done by, spreading thin layer of hot or cold wax over the skin and pulling the strip with a sudden jerk.

- Some hairs pulled by waxing, may never grow back, so waxing should be used to remove the hair, you do not need, like hairs between the brows, temples etc.
Trimming of Eyebrows:
- If you have bushy eyebrows, trim them using a set of small, pointed scissors and a small comb.
Threading of Eyebrows:
- It is Chinese technique to shape the eyebrows.
- In this technique, eyebrow hair is plucked using a thread.
- It can be use to give entirely new shape to the eyebrow.
Filling Eyebrows:
- You can fill eyebrows with brow powder or eye shadow powder to give eyebrows a neat shape.
- Color of the powder should be carefully chosen to match your skin tone.
Fake Eyebrows:
- You can use fake eyebrows for eyebrow shaping, if you do not have proper growth of eyebrow.
- Either you can stick eyebrow stencils which are pre-shaped eyebrows, made of human hair or you can draw one with the help of eyebrow pencil.
Tips for right Eyebrow Shaping:
