Eyebrow Threading: An Effective Way To Shape Eyebrows
Eyebrow Threading is a technique to remove hair from eyebrows to give them a proper shape. It is easy and effective alternative of waxing and plucking. It cannot be used for recreating a new shape and is also time consuming. While eyebrow threading plucks out a group or line of hair at one time, that too in desired angle. It produces better results then tweezing.
Now if you use eyebrow razor to remove hair from eyebrow, it does not remove hair from follicle and leaves stubbles behind. It gives a harsh and strange look. Using razor for removing eyebrow hair is not recommended.

This technique is also good for the people using Retin-A, accutane or such things. After eyebrow threading, hair grow back smoothly and are finer.

Only one disadvantage of eyebrow threading is that you cannot do it yourself. Either you have to visit a beauty salon or find an expert person for eyebrow threading. If you feel too much pain in the process of threading, let the beautician know and take a short break. Sensitive skins may get little redness, which disappears within few minutes.
Procedure of Eyebrow Threading:
Eyebrow threading is a very old method of removing hair. You do not need any tool or material except a cotton thread and expertise to do threading. To do threading cotton thread is twisted and hairs are pulled out neatly. As opposed to tweezing, which removes one hair at a time, threading removes natural row of hair.
The person doing threading holds the thread in a special way. This needs special skill, which has to be learnt properly. She makes a loop from cotton thread by using thumb and first three fingers of both hands and clutches other end of thread between teeth tightly. Now she twirls it a few times very quickly. Hairs are removed carefully line wise and after removing each line results are checked to avoid removing more hair then needed.
Steps involved in Eyebrow threading:
- First of all practitioner cleans the eyebrow area and put some powder on the eyebrows to make the area dry and free from any oil which may be there in hair.
- The beautician holds the one end of thread in mouth between teeth and forms a loop in right hand and holds other end of thread in left hand.
- Now she removes unwanted hair by twisting the thread and pulling the hair. Thread, which acts as the mini-lasso, removes hairs directly from the root.
- Hairs below the brow are removed first and then arc of eyebrow is defined. In the end upper hair are cleaned.
- After threading id done, clean the face with cotton as removed hair fall on the face.
- Dip a cotton in the astringent and apply on the eyebrow area to reduce the redness occurred due to pulling of hair.
