Party Makeup: Know Some Important Tips
Party makeup means putting extra makeup than what women ordinarily wear during the day. For a special event like wedding, holiday party or the date, you want to look special and glamorous. You want to break away from the monotony of routine makeup and party makeup is just right for that. Party makeup means extra shine and shimmer, bright colors and long, thick lashes. Party makeup is bright, but at the same time you should feel comfortable and confident.
While wearing party makeup, do not ignore your dress too. Party makeup looks good with special party dresses having shimmer in them. Bright makeup with dull dress would look out of place. But while applying party makeup, be yourself; do not oversee your personality. If you are not habitual of wearing party makeup, you can practice it before hand to stay comfortable on party event. Do not apply too much of makeup; you should not end up looking like a clown.
How to apply party makeup
Before applying party makeup, prepare yourself for this. Cleanse your face using cleanser. Then apply toner to remove any leftovers of cleanser. People with oily face, should use astringent instead of toner; it will help opening pores and freshening the face. After cleansing and toning apply moisturizing lotion.
After the moisturizer dries completely, apply foundation over it. Blend it completely on all areas like corner of eyes, sides of nose, chin, neck and ears. Choose a foundation shade, which matches your skin tone and it should be a shade lighter than your skin tone. On wider parts of the face, which you want to recede, you can apply darker shade of the foundation. Use concealer to hide the under eye dark areas. Apply face powder over foundation and concealer to set it and blend it well. This way you will get a soft look and makeup will stay longer.
Now apply blush on cheeks with the help of a brush. Apply blush color on forehead and chin. Add color gradually to get the desired color. Shade of the blush should match your skin tone and also your can apply a darker shade also at night. Shade like pink, rose look great for party face.
While applying party makeup for eyes, you have much to experiment with. With eyeshadow, use highlighter too. First prime the eyelids by applying foundation or primer over it. It will help the makeup to stay longer. Choose a medium tone of eye shadow and apply it on eyelids below the crease and then on the crease apply darker shade and blend both colors completely. On the area under the eyebrow, apply highlighter; it will enhance the effect of eyeshadow color. You can also wear a smoky eye effect also. Apply a thin line of eyeliner along with shape of your eyes. Use eyelash curler before applying mascara. Apply two coats of mascara to have voluminous lashes. You can wear fake eyelashes also for a dramatic look if you do not have thick eyelashes. Apply eyeshadow powder over the eyebrows with the help of eyebrow brush. Eyebrow color should match the color of mascara.
For applying party makeup for lips, first apply lip moisturizer or lip balm to soften the lips. After that apply foundation or lip balancer to give lips an even look. Now draw an outline by lip pencil. On the upper lips, start drawing from the middle of the lip and towards corners. After that fill the outline shape with lip color. Take a tissue and press it between your lips and it will blot away excess lip color. Now reapply the lip color. This will help lipstick to stay loner. After this apply lip-gloss.
Some Tips For Party Makeup
- You can add shimmer over the eyeshadow but it should be applied with wet brush to prevent it from falling on cheeks.
- You can apply bright colors of mascara like turquoise, violet, green etc. on the tips of lashes.
- To apply glitter on lips, mix glitter dust with lip-gloss.
- You can add sequins on your face by eyelash glue. Sequins can be put at the corner of your eyes.
- Paint your nails properly and add to it glitters and other patterns.
- Party makeup also has some limits and rules. You should apply either heavy eye makeup or heavy lip makeup but never the both at the same time.
- Take an ice cube and rub it over your face before applying makeup. It will help you tackle problem of perspiration and smudging of makeup and also makeup will stay longer.
