Caring Facial Skin
Facial Skin is the delicate organ of our body. Facial skin has many variations in itself. Also facial skin is the part of our body, which catches the attention of others. It tells the condition of health of our body. This the most common exposed part of skin. It is exposed to the environmental conditions. It is prone to many disorders, discoloration and diseases. There are many problems of facial skin like acne, blackheads, rashes, dull skin etc. Facial skin needs more care to prevent premature aging and damage to be done by environmental conditions. Facial skin can be taken care of with the help many skin care products available. Facial skin care should be the part of daily routine.
Care for Facial Skin
Cleansing
The most important care for facial skin is its proper cleansing. Face is the most exposed part of the body and catches the dirt quickly. Facial skin is also prone to sweat and oil. All these make a greasy appearance and right conditions for bacterial activity.
Washing is the most vital part of cleansing. It removes oil, dirt and sweat. It is also important to remove makeup, bacteria and dead cells of skin. You should wash face normally twice a day that is once in the morning and once in the evening. Also, you need to wash your face just after doing any activity involving lot of perspiration. Another factor, which influence the frequency of washing, is the climatic condition.
But if you have very dry or sensitive facial skin, you should wash your face only once. They should use non-detergent cleansers; should avoid using soap. You can use creamy cleansers. Cleansing products that contain moisturizing ingredients are usually best for those with dry skin. Individuals with sensitive skin may benefit from using a non-soap cleanser.
People living in humid conditions and those with oily skin should wash their face thrice a day to avoid acne. If they are using specific products for cleansing oily skin, you should use them only twice as excessive washing would strip the skin off the oils and oil-producing glands would produce more oil.
Toning: After washing or cleansing of the skin, you need to tone this by applying the toner on the facial skin. It removes the last traces of dirt and cleanser. It prevents them from blocking the skin pores.
Moisturizing: Moisturizing is another important step for maintaining the health of facial skin. Being an uncovered portion of skin, facial skin looses moisture very fast. Moisturizers help prevent the loss of moisture and replace the lost water.
Facial masks: Application of facial masks is very important as they feed the skin. There are different types of facial masks for different types of skins according to their needs. Facial masks have ingredients, which contain various skin nutrients like vitamins, protein and minerals.
Facial Exercises: Facial exercises are very beneficial to improve the blood circulation in the facial tissues. It improves the skin texture and tone. It helps prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. They also prevent bulging of facial skin tissues.
Sun Protection: You need to protect your facial skin from harmful sunrays. Whenever you go out, always apply sunscreen with SPF not less than 15.
Exfoliating: Facial skin maintains its glow if you exfoliate it occasionally. Exfoliation is the removal of dead cells from the skin. People with dry skin should not exfoliate their facial skin. It is recommended for oily skin and normal skin.
Facial Skin Care Tips:-
There are some general tips for cleansing the facial skin irrespective of the type of skin.
- If you have worn eye makeup, remove it carefully with an eye makeup remover with the help of soft cotton ball. This way, you won’t hurt the gentle tissue around eye. You will need cream based remover to remove waterproof makeup.
- Never use hot water over the face, as it will damage the skin cells and is too drying for the facial skin; instead use lukewarm water.
- You should always refrain from using harsh soaps, which do not have moisturizers in them and contain things like sarcosinates, sulfosuccinates and cocoamphodiacetates. You can use mild soaps.
- To wash facial skin, use your hands, not the washcloth. Washcloth will be too harsh for the skin; it can cause breakout of the acne. While washing, gently rub your skin with fingertips.
- After washing, do not rub your facial skin with towel. Always pat dry it using a soft towel.
- Do not use products having too much fragrance as they can irritate the sensitive skin.
