If want proper care of your skin, you should understand the type of your skin before considering any skin care routine. Various skin care products are available for different skin types. If you know your skin type, you would be able to choose correct facial washes, moisturizers and exfoliating lotions according to your skin. It will help you have healthy glowing skin. Skin care is important for all, irrespective of the age. You may be old or young; you can use these tips for skin care. You should take up skin care routine even if you do not have any skin problem.

Skin Types:
There are three skin types depending upon the amount of moisture in skin. You skin may be oily, dry, and normal. Skin care routine will followed according to your skin type.

Care for Normal Skin:
Normal skin is not prone to problems; still you need to care it to prevent from premature aging and wrinkles. There is a basic skin care routine that is cleansing, toning or nourishing and moisturizing. When you get up in the morning, use a rose water to refresh your skin. You can also use an alcohol-free astringent too. After that apply a non-greasy cream to moisturize your skin. You can use a cream made up of natural ingredients. After bath, do not forget to apply a mild moisturizing lotion to prevent it from drying. You need nighttime skin care routine also. Before going to bed, cleanse your face by using warm water and a good face wash cream. You can use cleanser for this and remove all the traces of cleanser by applying a toner. At night, instead of moisturizer, use a good nourishing cream. Apply an under eye cream for under eye areas. Do not apply excess of makeup and also take care of quality of makeup you use. Apply a non-drying mask with natural ingredients such as egg yolk mask. It will provide essential nutrients to skin.

Care for Dry Skin:
Care for dry skin includes thorough care without any neglect and ignorance. It is skin, which starts flaking, irritating and is also prone to fast premature aging and wrinkles. You have to take special care to moisturize the skin. The basic care is the same that is cleansing, toning and moisturizing. But the products, you will be using, make the difference. For cleansing of dry skin, use thick and milky cleansers. These cleansers have ability of cleansing the skin without removing the natural moisture of skin. Do not use tap water; instead use mineral water or alcohol free toner.

After bath in the morning, apply pure coconut oil, shea butter or cocoa butter. All of these contain vitamins needed by skin namely vitamin A, C., D and E and essential oils. These oils moisturize the skin, heal it and prevent from aging. Do not spend much time in shower and use minimum of mild moisturizing soap. Before going to bed apply thick nourishing cream.

Care for Oily Skin:
Oily skin is completely opposite of dry skin. This skin type has excessive oil as its problem. So you should have focus on removing extra oil form your skin. Other important aspects of care for oily skin are hydrating it, prevention of acne, blackheads and also preventing formation of enlarged pores. Oily skin catches grim and dirt very quickly, so to cleanse it properly, you should wash your face 2-3 times a day with plain water. You should use mild soap only once a day as using more soap can stimulate oil glands to produce more sebum and aggravate the problem. You can use non-oily cleansers to clean the skin and should be followed by toning to remove traces of cleanser. Toner should be non-alcoholic to keep the moisture balance of skin intact.  Before going to bed, do not forget to cleanse your face to let the skin breathe properly.  Facial mask, which you can use for oily skin, should contain drying and hydrating ingredients like papaya, yogurt or clay. Apply the facemask at least once a week.

Diet for Skin Care:
Any kind of skin care without proper healthy diet is superficial. Skin care is incomplete without taking care of what you eat and drink. The diet we are taking should be rich in amount of anti-oxidants. Your diet should have vitamin E, vitamin A, B, zinc, Omega-3 fatty acids. Drink plenty of water daily; at least 8-10 glasses daily. Take proper sleep of 8 hours daily.
