Summer Skin Care

Summer is welcomed after long cold winter season. It is a beautiful season but it can be harsh for your skin. You should protect your skin from summer heat. Delicate balance of oil and water gets disturbed during summer because of excessive heat. Excessive perspiration also clogs the skin pores and strong UV rays of summer sun do other damages. This fastens the appearance of wrinkles, premature aging and sagging of skin.

To protect your skin from summer, you should be in contact of water as much as possible. To keep the skin glowing in summers, you should understand the nature of your skin and work accordingly.

Skin Care for summers – moisturizing is important

In summers, skin looks oily, dull and blemished. The oils flow freely from skin pores. In summers, you need only light moisturizers to hydrate the skin instead of rich creamy moisturizers.  You should apply light water based moisturizers. You can use plain water to moisturize the hot skin. You can use herbal toners like this one. Prepare a mixture of rose water and cucumber juice and dilute by mixing mineral water, you can spray this lotion on face. Cool them in fridge before use.
Drink plenty of cold water in summers; it keeps the body hydrated. You can prepare a refreshing soda by mixing fruit juice with mineral water. Take gauze and dip it in considerably cold water and apply it over heat affected skin portion and leave it for 10 minutes. It is a compress to treat dry flaky skin

Some Summer Skin Care Tips:

ˇ    For immediate freshness of skin, splash your face with cold water very gently. If you are not using very hot or very cold water, you can splash water up to 20 times. You should give gentle steam mist to open the skin pores and drag out the dirt. Use a tissue to pat dry the skin and moisturize it. Always make sure that, you moisturize over damp skin to seal the extra moisture.
ˇ    Buy an effective scrub for foot to remove dead cells.
ˇ    Do not wear synthetic clothes in summers; only rely on the cotton cloths. Cotton cloths ensure better circulation of fresh air and let the seat dry out fast. It makes the skin light and help the skin pores to remain open.
ˇ    Avoid using very harsh cleansers.
ˇ    Use oil talc’s and deodorants to absorb the excess sweat due to heavy perspiration in summers. It helps to prevent many skin disorders, which can originate because of sweat and itching.
ˇ    You can keep a misting bottle, containing a mix of toner and water, which you can spray at your face to have cool and fresh feel whenever you feel dull skin by heat.
ˇ    Wear light cloths and light sandals as tight cloths and heavy shoes can make rashes on your skin and foot. Eat lots of ice cream and drink plenty of cold fruit juices. It helps keep your skin glowing by flushing out the toxins.
ˇ    After cleansing, tone and freshen your skin, using a toner.
ˇ    Avoid taking excess of caffeine and hard drinks as they make the skin drier and strip the skin off natural oils.
ˇ    Take fresh meal at regular intervals and avoid protein rich diet to maintain the proper metabolism of body.

Sun Protection for summer skin Care:

ˇ    Always use sunscreen with SPF 30 if you have sensitive skin whenever you go out.
ˇ    Sunrays are equally damaging on a cloudy day.
ˇ    When you are going out, apply sunscreen 20 minutes before moving out and then after 20  minutes in sun.
ˇ    If you are in sun for longer period, reuse the sunscreen cream.
ˇ    You can exercise in the morning hours to beat the day heat.
ˇ    Do not take infants into sun.
ˇ    In summers, exfoliation is essential to get rid of dull, dry and dead skin cells. Apply            exfoliating cleanser on washcloth or loofah and scrub your         skin in circular motion but it should be gentle. Exfoliating once a week is sufficient.
