Cellulite
Cellulite is alteration of skin and often referred as “orange peel’, dimpling and mattress look at affected areas. Cellulite is the accumulation of superficial fat under the surface of skin. It collects over a period of time. This collection of fat under the person’s skin pushes the connective tissue below skin. Due to this skin surface looks cumbrous. The most common portions of body affected by cellulite are thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen, neck and upper arms. Cellulite is a condition where fat cells are trapped by fiber. Body fluid cleanses fibers but due to poor circulation, waste gets accumulated and thickens to make hard pockets of immobile fat. But cellulite is not a disease; it is a disorder, which is created by unhealthy lifestyle.
Cellulite is a condition, which affects mainly women but very few men. This is because men and women have different cell structure. The main cause of appearance of cellulite is high intake of fatty substances, caffeine, and alcohol. Another important cause of appearance cellulite is sedentary lifestyle, lack of activity and lack of exercise.
Understanding Cellulite:
For that, you have to understand the skin structure first. Top layer of skin is called epidermis and after that lays dermis. Dermis carries hair follicles, blood cells sweat glands, connective tissue and nerve receptor. Below that lies first layer of subcutaneous fat. Subcutaneous means: beneath the skin. First layer of subcutaneous fat contains standing fat cell pockets separated by connective tissue. Small protuberances of fat which arise from those fat pockets protrude into the dermis. This gives bumpy appearance to skin.
