Wouldn’t it be great if you can wear makeup all day long without it smudging off or leaking when you cry or go about your daily activities, if you can apply your make up before you go to bed and then sleep in it, so when you wake up in the morning you have one less thing to worry about? What if I tell you that there was a certain makeup that can actually make you achieve all of those things, well there is and it has been around for 30 years and it is called Mineral makeup.

Many Mineral Makeup Benefits:

Makeup used to be made with a lot of unnatural, chemical ingredients, which resulted in skin problems. Today’s makeup companies have found ways to incorporate natural ingredients, including minerals.

Mineral makeup is an all natural solution that typically includes minerals such as mica powder, iron oxides, and titanium dioxide. The makeup benefits from titanium dioxide include treatment for inflammatory skin conditions, as well as providing a natural sunscreen. Mineral makeup is well suited for sensitive skin, although makeup benefits can help any skin type. Minerals reduce skin irritations and redness, without the need to apply layers of concealer and foundation.

Mineral makeup provides more even overall coverage than liquid foundations.
Mineral makeup is better for your complexion and won’t clog pores.
Mineral makeup is easy to use and can be applied quickly.

Mineral makeup doesn’t clog the pores so you have a cleaner complexion.
Mineral makeup feels lighter than liquid foundations.
Mineral makeup is easier to blend for a more natural look.
Mineral makeup reflects sunlight, which of course is better for your skin.

So what exactly is mineral makeup?

Well, there is no strict definition. Generally speaking, mineral based makeup is comprised of a variety of the earth’s natural mineral elements. These often include zinc oxide (this is used in diaper rash creams to ease irritation), iron oxides, titanium dioxide (which is a sunscreen) and bismuth oxychloride. These mineral particles should be large enough that they cannot penetrate your skin or clog up your pores. Be aware that if non-mineral ingredients such as vitamins and antioxidants are added to the makeup, there is the possibility of them penetrating your skin (indeed, some are intended to do just that), so some women with sensitive skin may get a reaction from these ingredients.*

A pure mineral makeup is combined with inorganic pigments to achieve the desired color. None of the artificial colors, preservatives or fragrances that one may find in chemical based makeup should be present.

As for the benefit to the skin, these are the best as they do not clog the pores and aren’t heavy, cakey or masky. For application I have found that using the circular method, applying in little circles with the brushes, seems to give the best and most even natural look. These products also have sunscrren to protect. For those who like a bit more dramatic or evening look, experiment with the various colors that may also be mixed to achieve almost any trendy style. For the sexy, smokey eyed look the darker shades of browns and blacks work nicely as the mica gives the shimmery, sultry appearance. For every day the warmth works fine as just a healthy glow on the eyes and face. I apply the shadows with an angled eye shadow brush. The colors can even be used on the lips under a gloss for a finished look. Just pat on color and gloss.

Sheer Cover Makeup - Benefits Of Mineral Makeup

Best of all, sheer cover makeup contains all natural ingredients. Other brands of makeup have chemists in laboratories performing experiments and developing new synthetic agents to use in their products, but mineral makeup contains only high-quality, wholesome ingredients straight from nature. Some ingredients include leaf extracts, zinc oxide, titanium, and mica. Occasionally you’ll stumble across one or two of these amidst the synthetic ingredients on the label of other makeups, but mineral makeup is made completely of these and has no synthetic or chemical fillers!

What makes mineral makeup different? First, it is an all-natural product. Due to the processing of the minerals, the resulting powder can be used very lightly to achieve a flawless finish. Part of the reason for this is the fact it does not sink into pores or wrinkles. There is a natural luminosity to the powder, which gives skin a pleasant and healthy glow. Since one of the minerals included is zinc, there is a natural SPF15. The lack of chemical additives means the makeup is a healthy alternative to traditional foundations.
