A dark skin is more resilient than fair skins. Due to more pigment, it can withstand exposure to the sun much better. It is basically hardier. What bears repetition is that any skin which is healthy and clear can look beautiful. With a flawless and healthy skin, the dark skinned girl can replace the Indian fascination for “fair” skin with the idea that “brown is beautiful”.Makeup for dark skin

Color Blusher for Dark Skin

Color blusher is also part of doing makeup for dark skin but with applicable colors of course that will match your skin tone. The advisable color blushers makeup for dry skin is deep orange, rose and coral. Do not wear blushers that are colored with peach or brown shades if you have dark skin as these will not match your skin tone. However, if you have a very dark skin tone, you can use the color of rose pink for your blush-ons during the daytime and the colors of wine, plum and bronze during night time. In putting on blusher makeup for dry skin, blending over the cheekbones should be given enough attention to avoid overdoing. Make sure that the blending is perfect enough to brighten the skin tone of the dark skin. The color of gold is also perfect during night time as makeup for dark skin.

Choosing the right foundation for your skin

It’s vital you choose the right kind of foundation that suits your skin tone perfectly. To avoid the dreaded mask lines, choose a foundation exactly the same shade as your skin tone, or half a shade lighter. Professionals use 2 shades: a lighter one on your forehead, nose and cheeks, and a darker one for the rest of the face. For a fresh, radiant look, go for golden, orange or apricot shades that guarantee healthy-looking, peachy skin and suit matte skin tones.

However, if your skin is dark the secret is to play with matte or shine colors.

For eyes, choose makeup with delicate textures, together with eyeliner in nuances like emerald or sapphire. You will look sensational if you choose makeup in nuances like bronze or copper- colored.

For lips if you want a natural look, then a gold gloss is for you. For a sophisticate makeup, use a greasy lipstick like red wine color.

Any black object is a good absorber of light and radiation and hence the good reflector also. Since your skin is dark it will also behave in the similar manner, that’s why dark skin seems oily, even though it may not. Because of your skin color, you will need to avoid creamy foundations and choose from liquid foundations or water based foundation. You must choose the foundation, the shade of which is lighter than your skin tone. It would be better, if you will find the foundation color closer to the color of your skin. Apply foundation and powder lightly, because dark skin reveal the layers of makeup more than any other type of skin, say fair skin etc.

You may also use a highlighter on the bridge of your nose, around your eye or above the cheek bones and upper lip. When choosing the right shade of lipstick, go for more intense colors, like dark reds or corals. Lipsticks in burgundy will also look pleasing on dark skin. For your blush, warm colors in rose or deep orange are highly recommended for dark skin. If you are going to a night of fun and entertainment with friends, you may add a bit of drama to your cheeks by dusting your cheeks with a hint of gold color.

Base

A water-based liquid or creamy foundation is best. Test colors on your jaw line. The one that matches your skin color perfectly is the right one. Avoid a foundation lighter than your natural skin tone. If you prefer lighter coverage, you can mix a few drops of water on the back of your hand with your foundation and then apply it.

Use a concealer which is slightly lighter than your skin tone if necessary. Follow this with a light powder. Even baby powder can be used, to give the skin a healthy sheen. Dust off any excess so the effect looks natural.
