Tips and techniques for Party Makeup
EYES
Don`t be shy! Go bold with party makeup, especially at night. Right now, sparkles and shine are all the rage. Makeup artist to the stars Jerome Alexander has just the right makeup for your eyes. Not too much, not to little. Best of all, the shades are suitable for all skin-tones.
LIPS
1960~s retro red lipstick sets the trend for the latest in lipcolor this season, and really stands out on those with blonde hair and pale skin. If you would rather go classic than wild, try a dark plum or wine color to accentuate your lips without looking flashy. If you prefer a more natural look, apply a shimmery lipgloss over bare lips or your favorite lipstick. Jerome Alexander`s Duo-End Lipstick and Lip Gloss is perfect for this.
For a perfect base on your face before putting on party makeup, you can wash your face with warm water. You can also massage your face with a tinted oil free moisturizer that is blended with illuminating products like the shimmer dust or the highlighters. After doing these, you can begin lightly brushing your face with loose powder.
Keep in mind that using skin illuminators is a great help in hiding dark circles and skin imperfections on your face. Skin illuminators also give your skin that radiant glow.
For Christmas parties - Wear red lipsticks that shimmer or sparkle. Dress up the eyes by using dark brown, dark green, or black mascara’s and liners. Create rosy cheeks by using pink blushers, or use peach blusher for a storybook type look.
Informal Parties - Use subtle plays of colors that you might use in the day. Wear colors that enhance the eyes but don’t make them pop out. Use subtle hints of cooler tones like mint green or ice blue. You won’t need to add shimmer unless you just want to. Rosy shades of pinks and matte greens look good on most everyone, so add a few shades to your makeup collection and keep those on hand. You never know when someone might ask you out! Use paler shades and you and your makeup will be a hit!
Putting on false eye lashes:
Put these on before eye shadow. Apply a coat of mascara, then dot eyelash glue along the lash band with the pin. Let the glue dry for a second. Then pick these lashes with a pair of tweezers and position them on your closed eyelids, on top of your real lashes. Gently press the lash band down on to your eyelid with your finger. Wait for glue to dry.
Apply a powder to the lashes prior to the mascara, to give your lashes volume and allow the mascara to stay longer. Look down into a mirror and stroke lashes upwards with just the tip of the brush. Always brush the lashes from above and then upwards from below to get the both sides of the lashes. First apply a thin coat, lit it dry and then build up with a second coat of mascara. When applying mascara to the lower lashes, gently brush the tip of the applicator across them.
