Thyroid - Graves Disease
| Is it normal to have a continual headache, nausea, with Graves disease? I have an appointment with a specialist in a few days, but was told about the disease just fortnight ago. In this span of 15 days my throat has swollen on both side and also in the front. More over my heart rate stays at 100 to 130 beats/minute - I take the medicine that has been prescribed to me but condition is not improving. I am really worried and concerned as my symptoms are getting worse and I do not see anything getting better. Please advice me something. |

| I have been on Tapazole for about one and a half year now. My doctor prescribed and my dosage sometimes got over and sometimes got under. But I had normal levels of my thyroid limits. I feel lousy if the level goes up. I feel better on the higher TSH or lower free T's. I also had increased heart rate at rest when first I was diagnosed but many heart tests later revealed that there was no need of beta blocker, my blood pressure was always low, like 90/60 mmHg. My doctors were afraid I would pass out. After being on the right dose of Tapazole, my heart beat became normal. You need to be on Tapazole too, do not take beta blocker as increased heart rate is not actually a heart problem in this scenario. Don't let a doctor rush you into RAI, try the Tapazole first. I had come across few women who have been in remission for a few years now; it can be treated with medicines for about three or four years. |
